Saturday, May 9 is Jackson County Free Museum Day, and the Waterloo Farm Museum just outside of town is participating. Free admission starts at 10 a.m.

The site's a working farm museum on a wide property — historic farmhouse, outbuildings, displays on rural Michigan life, and plenty of room for kids to run around between exhibits. Pack a picnic if the weather cooperates.

Free Museum Day is a county-wide initiative — other Jackson County museums are also participating.
